What are Botox & Xeomin?

Botox and Xeomin are cosmetic injectables that are used to temporarily relax facial muscles and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Both Botox & Xeomin are made from a bacterium called Clostridium botulinum, but Xeomin is double purified, thus getting rid of the protein molecules typically found in Botox. This can create a lighter “feel” versus other products.

Both Botox and Xeomin can provide similar benefits such as reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, smoothing the forehead, and improving the overall appearance of the face. However, some people may find that one works better for them than the other, so it’s important to talk to a qualified practitioner about which option is best for your specific needs.

What is filler?

There are several different types of filler, each which serve a unique purpose. The filler used at The Summer Aesthetic is a hyaluronic acid based filler. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that is found within the body. We currently use Lips + and Versa made by Revance. Fillers are most commonly used to help with wrinkles as well as build/shape faces. Lips are the most common area of filler and can help shape, define, and give volume to lips. Other areas include the mouth/nose area, or the nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Filler can last up to 12 months!
